Love Your Love the Most

 Tuesday, January 25, 2011

Life is like... a joke. Not everyone will always think you're funny.

So I was searching the Internet last night and for some reason I decided to look up Eric Church tour dates. I discovered that he's going to be in Macon, about a 2 hour drive from Auburn, on Thursday, February 3. I immediately relayed the information to my friend Kody, we've been trying to go to an Eric Church concert for about  2 years now, and we bought tickets last night!! I'm so excited! I love Eric Church and I CANNOT wait to see him in concert! It's going to be so much fun. I'm not too pumped about driving back so late and having class so early, but I know it will be worth it.

These Moments Define Us

 Monday, January 24, 2011

Life (and friendships) is like... training for a marathon. You (friendships) will sometimes be pushed to the limits, but you have to endure those aches and pains in order to enjoy the end results.

I had a very interesting weekend. Definitely not the best. I said some things to a friend of mine that I should not have said, but I had been drinking a little and was feeling brave. Sunday night I went over to his apartment and apologized. We also talked about some things that have been going on between us that neither one of us would really talk about and I fell much better about our relationship now. This needed to happen, but I just hate that it took me saying those things to him in order for us to talk.

I've felt a lot more confident in myself lately. I am the type of person that loves to be around people all the time and loves to have a boyfriend (I mean what girl doesn't) but lately I have just been hanging out with my self a lot more and just loving hanging out with my friends without the pressure of wondering if I'm supposed to be with someone else. Sure there's a guy I would love to date, but things don't always work out the way we want them to and I'm not going to let it get me down. I have so much life ahead of me and I shouldn't be worried about having a boyfriend right now...I have to worry about the LSAT. Not excited.

School and Skiing

 Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Life is like...skiing. Lessons can only teach you so much, then you're on your own.

Classes started back this past week and so far they are going well. Jogging at 8 a.m. is rough, but at least I'll be running. I had my first scuba lab today and it was really scary. It was just really weird breathing underwater. World Lit is going to be interesting. I'm not really sure if I like my teacher yet. Comp 1000 is pointless. But I think my political science classes will be fun.

This past weekend Justin, Brad, Hannah and I went to Gatlinburg to go skiing. It was a whole lot of fun. Definitely 10x better than the last trip Justin and I went on. We left Auburn Friday afternoon and arrived in Gatlinburg that night. We played in the snow for a while because Brad kept saying, "Let's go plaaaaaaay! Let's go plaaaaaaay!" So we went outside to play. On Saturday we went skiing at Ober Gatlinburg. It was great. Brad and I skied while Justin and Hannah took ski lessons. Then we all did a couple of runs together. Sunday we went shopping and took Old Time Photos. It was an interesting experience. Monday we drove back to Auburn and I did homework all day. All in all it was a great weekend.

All We Do Is Win!

 Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Life is like... winning a National Championship. It always means more to those who are rooting for you.

Got home from Arizona this morning. Justin and I weren't able to get tickets to the game because the prices never came down. I was really sad that we weren't able to be in the stadium to watch the game but WE WON!!! Auburn University's football team is the number one team in the nation!! WAR DAMN EAGLE!

Since we didn't get tickets Justin, Brad, Hannah, maybe Riley, and I plan on going skiing in Gatlinburg. I really hope it works out because this past weekend was not a really great one and I really need a good weekend before I get back in the school mindset.

A Whole Lot of Letdown

 Monday, January 10, 2011

Life is like... an airport. Lots of people just trying to get from point A to point B. I'm coming to you tonight from 30000 feet in the air. What a day it has been. This morning Justin and I drove to the Atlanta airport in order to put our names on the stand by list for a flight to Phoenix. We didn't get the flight... which meant wehad to hang out in Atlanta until our scheduled flight...at 8:50pm. Well we met up with some friends and went to the mall for about 2 hours and then came back to the airport for their flight. Then we had to sit... and wait. Well 8:10 rolls around and we board our plane. And also about that time a blizzard decides to hit Atlanta. So... we sit on the runway for about an hour, then we sit through de-icing for another 30 minutes until the pilot finally tells us that our flight has been delayed until further notice. Lovely. We get off the plane and wait for about an hour until we can reboard. Then we have to go back through de-icing, which takes another hour, until finally, at 12:40am Auburn time, we take to the air. Today has just been a joke. We've beenup entirely too long. If I could sleep on planes I would definitely be asleep right now but I'm never able to. Oh well. We should land in Phoenix around 5:30 auburn time which means we will have been up for a full 24 hours. Sorry there are no page breaks. I'm writing from my nook and it won't let me jump lines. I know you probably didn't want to hear about my awful day but I'm trying to pass the time on thhis flight. I guess I should just be happy that we Were able to take off. That is a blessing that others will not enjoy tonight. God is good, even when I feel like all hope is lost, He is there. Well here's hoping for a win tomorrow. War Eagle!!

A Good Lesson to Learn

 Friday, January 7, 2011

Life is like... a song. It may not be loved by everyone, but it is loved by the one who created it.

When I found out about the tickets on Monday I thought it was the end of the world. I believed for an entire month that I would be attending the National Championship Game and in a split second my dream was ripped out from under me. I wanted to cry. A part of me still does. But this isn't the end of the world. If we go out there and find tickets for a decent price that will be fantastic... but if we don't I know we'll still have a great time.

I'm coming to terms that maybe going to the game isn't a part of God's plan for me. I know it may sound weird that I would think God is keeping me from this game for some reason, but maybe I am suppose to use this money for something else. Justin, Brad and I are talking about going skiing next weekend in Tennessee, so maybe I'm supposed to use money for that? I don't know. Maybe I'm supposed to have an interaction with someone outside the stadium. Who knows? I'm just leaving it all in His hands.

No News Isn't Good News

 Wednesday, January 5, 2011

Life is like... a good book. We are sad when they end.

Well it looks like Justin and I will be flying out to Arizona in hopes of finding tickets to the game once we are there. I'm really nervous about it, but I think it can be done. One of my best friends, Blake, did the same thing last year and he was able to buy a ticket for cheaper than they cost on eBay. I hope we will be able to do the same thing. I guess we'll find out in 5 days...

I just keep telling myself that if I have faith in the Lord, I can't go wrong.

A Twist of Fate

 Tuesday, January 4, 2011

Life is like... a poker game. You must play with the hand you are dealt.

Got some bad news this morning. The guy Justin and I bought our BCS National Championship tickets from is now backing out. He told us the guy who supplies his tickets backed out and that means we don't get our tickets. The game is less than a week away. Tickets on eBay are now going to close to $2000 a piece. I can't pay that much for a ticket. I don't have that kind of money. BUT I will be going to this game. Since I already have a flight I'm just going to fly out there and hope that I can buy a ticket off a scalper for less than $1000. I cannot miss this game.

A Fresh Start

 Sunday, January 2, 2011

Life is like... a new year. It is good to start over every once and a while.

Well New Year's Day has come and gone. For New Year's Eve Audrey, Brad, Rachel, Garret, John, Blake and I went to Audrey's farm to celebrate. We did the same thing last New Year's Eve and it was a blast so we tried to recreate the magic again. It definitely was a lot of fun, but I don't think we will ever be able to top the fun we had bringing in 2010.

For dinner Blake and I cooked chili. It was really really good. Then we played some games and had some fun. Garrett brought some fireworks and we shot those off for a couple of minutes, but then we lost interest. Since we didn't have cable we had to use our phones to ring in the new year. The fact that we all had different times on our phones and we weren't watching the ball drop in New York City kinda took away from the excitement of the event. Oh well. There's always next year.

On New Year's Day my mother's side of the family eats lunch together, but this year a lot of people were sick so we didn't do that. I spent New Year's Day watching episodes of The Office on Netflix. Hopefully yesterday wasn't a glimpse of how 2011 will play out for me.

Only 8 more days until Auburn plays Oregon in the BCS Championship Game and only 7 more days until Justin and I fly out to Arizona. I'm starting to get really excited. I kinda hate that I have wished my whole Christmas break away, but if Auburn wins it will make everything so worth it. The only things I am nervous about is missing those two days of class. I hate the fact that Auburn isn't going to cancel class for at least the day of the game. Hopefully all of the teachers will be understanding and not give out any assignments.

Oh, and I did end up buying a nookcolor and I absolutely LOVE it.
